We only have adult patients or staff members in this centre. This is for both ethical and technical reasons.
I hope you understand the ethical ones without further explanation.

As to the technique, Pr Simon thinks that an immature body or an immature mind cannot understand what happens to her during X-stimulation. This would prove to be a source of anxiety and could cause enormous psychic damage to the mind of the patient.
The reason why we have only female patients is purely a matter of choice of Prof. Simon Wright. He says that male pathology is very restricted, because the male mind is very focused on one or two things. It always ends in megalomania/paranoia or pure sociopathy. The latter is impossible to cure, the former quickly becomes boring to see again and again.
The female mind, and therefore female psychopathology, is much more varied. Furthermore, the most widely encountered pathology in female mind is depression, which responds very well to X-treatment.
Another reason for focusing on female patients is that they can withstand much higher levels of X-stimulation than men can, with greater frequency. In fact, a great number of them require this stimuli yet do not receive it from their usual environment.

Last but not least is the question of, why the focus on treating augmented women, who are usually called "super heroines"?. There are two reasons for this, although I'd like to point out that La Conciergerie treats many women who do not have super powers.
The first reason is super heroines endurance, which allows some tolerance of errors concerning the level of X-stimulation. This can also cause problems as it has been known for some super girls to stay at high levels of stimulation for days and not achieve final release. The staff was afraid to augment the level of X-waves which were already critical until Prof Simon ordered the level raised and the patient was at last released.
The second reason is that being a super heroine brings its own pathology. Having powers either gives you a heightened sense of responsibilities or diminishes it. Either way many turn away from their normal self. Many an aspiring young heroine has fallen into despair or even psychosis for not being able to handle such things. X-therapy works well on this since it brings a better perspective of what is important and what's not, and it gives a feeling of fulfillment that is very comforting to our patients.
