French laws forbids us to have deadly weapons. Even if this wasn't the case, Prof. Simon Wright holds only contempt for people who cannot settle their problems with anything but brute force. He positively hates war, which has lead to some interesting reflections among the staff as to his former identity.
As a consequence, no one holds a deadly weapon in the Clinique.
Security officers have access to some if under attack, but they are ordered to use the robots instead of exposing themselves, if at all possible.
Anyway, France is much calmer than many countries and it is also very poor in Super Heroes. So, since flying across the Atlantic in spandex costume is not very comfortable, we are not very concerned about a direct attack by paranormals.
La Clinique does have the means to defend itself, however. Lady and Prof Simon Wright devised some very efficient weapons that have proved sufficient until now.
Here are the most widely deployed in our institution.

The X-gun is a beam projecting heavy pistol. It builds up special X-waves which stimulate some specific areas in the female cortex. This has the immediate effect of making them unable to concentrate. After a few seconds of exposure the target collapses, rendered helpless for sufficient time for her to be overpowered by the guards. An easy task as the target is incapable of effective resistance. Since X-waves don't affect the robots they can collect, hold and restrain the patient while other guard-chans maintain fire with X-guns to ensure the patient cannot injure herself or anyone else by fighting back.
Of course, this weapon only works on human and humanoid females, but as it is so effective and the majority of patients fall into these categories it has become standard issue to all guard-chan robots.
Being shot with an X-gun is not recalled as a unpleasant experience by the targets. It has even become necessary to forbid human security officers to have one since they had a tendency to shoot at each other or even at themselves. In fact it has been known for some members of the staff to literally beg the guard-chans to use their X-guns on them. Of course, this behaviour is considered extremely unprofessional and when it occurs has been dealt with by U89, our Discipline Manager and Professor for Proper Education. So far all the people involved have been thoroughly repentent after being disciplined and have not re-offended..

The web gun is a more general weapon. It shoots a fluid that almost instantly becomes a web of sticky threads to entangle its target. This web is far more than the near unbreakable but simple thread it was originally. The original formula of Prof. P. Parker has been upgraded by the combined efforts of Prof Simon Wright, the being called the Webmaster and Melusine, our Mage-in-Residence (more commonly refered to as our pretty witch).
It now can ensnare any living being, even those in non corporeal state. It can even hold supernatural entities such as vampires, even if they are in gaseous form. This has been achieved by the addition of X-latex to its composition.
Of course, it is resistant enough to hold super strong paranormals, or any known robot or alien small enough to enter La Clinque.
Its weight, due to the huge fluid reservoir needed, makes it a single handed weapon for the guard-chans, but a heavy, difficult to carry rifle requiring a two handed grip to the normal human beings who make up most of the staff.

The multi-purpose shotgun is the weapon of choice for the heavy-chans. It can fire different kind of ammunitions at a very rapid rate Solid, armor-piercing, dum-dum, explosive, incendiary, flare, and smoke rounds are the classic military choices, but they are not standard issue here. These are reserved as a last resort for truly awesome threats.
In day to day affairs, the chans use various incapacitating ammo : Pulse tasers which conduct electricity to incapacitate a target, EMP which can devastate a robot's cyberbrain, sedative delivering needles, and rubber balls (less dangerous than standard rubber bullets)
We are conducting negotiations with the Chainsman Intitute to be able to use their beta or delta latex as ammo.
Unfortunately, the recoil of this shotgun makes it impractical for normal human to use.

The X-gloves are the only incapacitating weapons that we use which can be held by normal people. Actually, they are worn !
Prof Simon devised an item which could be used to stimulate certain neurocenters. It is a form of X-latex which emits X-waves, the same energy that is beamed by the X-guns. As a result, the holder can use them to have the same effect on the target touched that the X-gun does at a distance.
Of course, the wearer is totally immune to its effects, which some staff members seem to regret.
The intensity of the waves can be lowered to give simple warnings, but they can also be powered up to impressive levels if need be. The chief security officer, Judith, is responsible for permitting these high levels of power to be used. She has full control over all these weapons and can remotely disable someone else's X-glove if she so wishes.
These items were made in form of gloves on an suggestion by U89, our Proper Education Professor, who pointed out that all staff members were ladies, and that no lady is properly dressed without gloves or hat.
This is why all the ladies in La Clinique wear gloves, as a mean of self-defence. The only one not required to is Melusine, since she said that wearing a hat was enough to be properly dressed.
Pr Simon Wright has ruled in her favor, on the grounds that her spells gave her a high enough combat capacity, but U89 is still not at all happy about this.
