Humane Capture Equipment - Traps
The Magical Girl Packager
Since the phenomena shows no signs of ending those unfortunates suffering
from Magical Girl Syndrome (MiGS) continue to provide a steady stream of
victims requiring involuntary committal. However due to the paranormal
abilities gained by the sufferers of MiGS their acquisition was always a most
difficult and dangerous task. Fortunately this has recently changed thanks to
the inventiveness of Dr. Sebastian.
To explain further you should first view this record of a MiGS victim's
transformation to her Magical Girl form.
Typical Magical Girl Transformation - Institute Archival Video
The form of the artifacts used to achieve the transformation varies but
the common factor is the transmutation of the victim's "civilian" clothing
into the energy ribbons which wrap around their body then transmute back into
fabric as their MiGS uniform.
What Dr. Sebastian learned was that while the artifacts achieve the
remarkable effect of matter-to-energy-to-matter conversion they are relatively
simple devices serving this simgle function. They lack higher processing
functions and, more importantly, the magical equivalent of a Firewall. So by
the study of MiGs artifacts it is possible to learn how to magically "hack"
into the transmuter and reprogram it with a new pattern for the uniform when
it next activates. As Dr. Sebastian was able to demonstrate.
Having packaged themselves the MiGs victim is unable to offer serious
resistance or injure herself making involuntary acquisition both simple and
safe for all concerned.
The amulet used to achieve this effect has become standard issue
equipment. Since it can be easily mass produced and has a reasonably wide
range of effectiveness Gold Team merely has to place them at regularly spaced
intervals in areas frequented by MiGs victims then do something to attract
their attention. The MiGs victim does themselves and Gold Team merely has to
collect them and bring them back here for processing.
A useful offshoot of this research and development program was that
Dr. Sebastian learned how to build a Magical Girl style wand of his own that
we know as the Senshi Ribbon Wand. However unlike the MiGs victims artifact
these wands are solely designed to activate the packaging program when held by
the assigned target. So they merely have to be acquired by the target at
which point we can acquire them. For example during one of the Brande
acquisitions a Senshi Ribbon Wand was mailed to her as a free sample of
merchandise. Which proved to be an effective means of deployment.
The Rover Ball
Unlike its larger cousin the Rover the Rover Ball neither possesses mobility
nor actively seeks out its target. However it is far more effective as a tool
of covert acquisition as large, levitating, self propelled bubbles have
extreme difficulty in approaching a target without being noticed.
The Rover Ball's major disadvantage as a trap is its spherical shape
limits the number of forms in which it can be deployed. We are currently
working on techniques to make it more malleable. However while it does have
these limitations at the present time its extreme range of both expansion and
contraction means it can be disguised in sizes varying from a golf ball to a
beach ball. Or in a mid range form, as in the example, such as a gymnast's
balance ball.
Prior to deployment the Rover Ball is programed with its target's DNA
from discarded hairs or whatever other genetic material source has been
found for this purpose. Once this is done the Rover Ball will react only to
the target so there are no worries about premature activation once it is
substituted for the usual ball. For example if it is being used as a soccer
ball it won't activate until the target kicks it. No other player has any
risk of being ensnared.
Regardless of its size once activated the Rover Ball follows the same
pattern. It grows rapidly and sucks the target's body into it. During this
process the target's body is drawn into a fetal position so that rather than
a ball the size of the target at full extension a more compact package is
produced.
While the Rover Ball could have been made to enclose the victim's entire
body without harming her during the initial design phase it was decided to
leave the face visible for identification purposes. The Rover Ball will only
react to the programmed target but if the wrong DNA was used embarrassing
errors could result that would not be discovered until the Rover Ball was
returned to the Institute and emptied.
This precaution does not cause appreciable delays. Once the target's
identity has been confirmed by Gold Team she is fitted with a China Doll then
submerged within the ball (the ball doesn't cling to the one who gently pushes
her inside it) and the Golds simply roll it off to their waiting transportation.
Once back at the Institute the Rover Ball is given its exudation signal and
pushes out a patient with an overall coating of Beta Latex locked in a fetal
postion. The patient can then be easily processed for admittance. Though
thanks to the China Doll she is wearing the patient can be left in this state
indefinitely if the medical staff on duty think it will therapeutically benefit
them.
Its job done the Rover Ball has its Beta reservoir replenished and is
returned to a neutral (unprogrammed and inactive) state then returned to
storage until such time as it is programmed with a new target.
I'm afraid that's all the Traps we have declassified at the present time.
We have to keep some surprises in reserve.
There is one more item I can tell you about. It's not so much a trap as
it is a field restraint. That is it's for Gold Team to use on Involuntary
Acquisitions after they have trapped them.
The FETal Transport containERS (FETTERS)
File Photo - FETTERS Demonstration
Brande and Gold Team volunteered to demonstrate this equipment in an
exhibition organised by Quality Assurance and Training a few weeks ago.
The recently introduced FETal Transport containERS (FETTERS) are designed
to allow Acquisition Teams to remain active in the field for prolonged periods
if necessary and/or to enable them to handle large group acquisitions without
the delay of having to continually return to the Institute to deliver patients
should they become overloaded with acquistions.
While FETTERS literally refers to the storage crates you see pictured it
actually means the whole restraint package. FETTERS is designed as a system
of interlocking parts which produce the desired result. Patients who are not
only safe and secured but easily shipped or stored.,
Inside each FETTERS crate is an space in the shape of an adult in a fetal
position. Stowed inside this cavity is a Delta Latex bodysheath (with a single
arm and leg sleeve) and hood along with a China Ball. The concept is simple
yet ingenious.
Stage One (demonstrated by Brande) : Strip the acquisition subject and
place her in the bodysheath. The sheath's Delta Latex fabric adjusts to her
size and contours so it can be zipped shut without being either baggy or too
small. Once it's a perfect fit the subject has no chance of sliding out of it
or removing it themselves and will wear it until it's removed by someone else.
Stage Two (demonstrated by Akira): A China Ball is inserted to provide
both lifesupport and a gag that the subject can't spit out or remove without
outside assistance.
Stage Three (demonstrated by Toniya): The hood (also Delta Latex) is
pulled on and attached to the tabs on the bodysheath's collar
Stage Four (demonstrated by Mai): The subject is now completely encased in
Delta Latex whose nanites will take care of her hygenine and body temperature
regulation while the Chinaball provides her with full life support functions.
Theoretically she can be left like this indefinitely without ill effects.
Stage Five (demonstrated by Cammy): The subject is placed in the cavity in
the FETTERS crate and manoeuvred into a fetal posture. The cavity expands or
contracts as needed to ensure a snug fit so that she can't move and that the
subject is fully protected from all shocks and impacts, big and small.
Stage Six (demonstrated by Rie): The FETTERS container is closed and
locks automatically. The only keys that can open it are in the Acquisition
Team's possession and the master set back at the Institute. The crate can now
be placed in storage for subsequent recovery or shipped back to the Institute
by whatever means are available. So far as the courier knows they'll be
carrying miscellaneous medical supplies such as bandages or other non
bio-hazardous materials. Supported within the FETTERS the patient will be
unaware they are being moved and even if somehow aware of being in transit
unable to attract any attention from outside so external interference is not
an issue.
The practical upshot of all this that our Acquisition team will be freed
from all the concerns and problems of housing, transporting and caring for
the targets they have acquired while in the field. They will have less to
worry about and the patients will arrive at the Institute having avoided all
risk of physical harm.
So it's a Win-Win scenario for everybody.
