Suichiro Tanaka - Administrator of Search and Acquisition Personnel

In his earlier years Mr. Suichiro Tanaka originally worked directly for Mr. Rugal Barnstein. He was able to use his extensive knowledge of the martial arts to help Mr. Rugal in acquiring the more reluctant participants for his "King of Fighters" tournament. During his employment he managed to convince many a fighter to join the tournament. He enjoyed his job very much and worked for Mr. Rugal for a number of years, until Mr. Rugal's sudden disappearance in 1995. Being of the "Great Man" school of thought Mr. Rugal had made no provisions for a successor, preferring to run his corporation as though he would remain at the helm permanently. With his disappearance a power vaccuum resulted that none of the remaining executives were qualified to fill. Unable to function the organization soon fell under into own weight and all the employees, including Rugal's own personal secretaries, Vice and Mature, were forced to find other careers. Biding his time by taking temporary jobs as a bouncer at the local night clubs and a security officer for the private security industry Mr. Tanaka found them all lacking in the adventure and job satisfaction of his former position. Seeking a career in which he could continue to develop himself and his skills, as well as provide a sense of fufillment, he heard about and decided to apply for the "Search and Acquisitions" position being advertised by the recently opened Chainsman Institute. Demonstrating his skills in hand to hand combat as well as the expertise in surveillance, tracking and acquisition he had developed while working for Mr. Rugal won him the position and he was placed in charge of Gold Team. While the group was a close knit unit of expert fighters they lacked his skills in subduing and snaring targets being primarily trained for extreme sanction operations. Charged with improving their acquisitions training he set to work at both upgrading their skills and overcoming their inevitable resentment at taking orders from an outsider. Being in charge of Gold Team is a challenging role and Mr. Tanaka tries his best to keep order among them. Originally he was a little apprehensive at being in charge of this team of women, this was due more to being used to working alone rather than their gender. Slowly he became more accustomed to collabarating with the Golds and they learned to respect his skills and experience, although former Gold Leader Bianca still led the group into action for the most part with Mr.Tanaka overseeing the operation. With the subsequent addition of two more agents to the team, Mr.Tanaka subdivided the group into two sections. The four former Delmos were to handle most standard acquistion operations, with Gold Leader, Mai and Cammy taking the more complicated special operations. This division was not a hard and fast rule as were are occasions where operational requirements meant both sections worked together. For example during the recapture of the escapee Brande and the Sailor Senshi Acquisition. Mr. Tanaka originally preferred working with the newer recruits. This was partially because he had known them before joining the Institute but mainly because they were loners looking to become part of a team rather than a team struggling to accept a new leader. Deputy Gold Leader Bianca initially resented losing her position as head of the Golds but since Mr. Tanaka left the original Gold Delmos under her command and let her run their field operations their authority didn't clash and there was little friction between them. Over time the original Golds learned to appreciate the skills of their newer members and Mai and Cammy learned to work effectively with the others rather than regard them as a hindrance. By the time that Gold Team gained their intern, Akira Kazama, all six members were already functioning as a unified squad. As for Suichiro and Bianca after they were forced to work together when most of the Team was incapacitated during an incident (whose details must remain classified) they gained a new respect for one another. This negated the barriers between them and they now work together without any problems. So there are no longer any hierarchical conflicts and Gold Team follows Suichiro Tanaka's lead without qualms. They'd follow him into hell and I suspect he'd bring them back unscathed.
