The first person visitors and walk-in voluntary commital patients usually
talk to is our receptionist, Janine Melnitz. Janine gained the position
shortly after her significant other Egon Spengler joined our Occult Sciences
Division in the wake of the breakup of Ghostbusters Incorporated. Prior to
this Janine had worked as their receptionist and become as invaluable to their
office as she has to ours. Practically unflappable after learning to handle
stress and the unusual at her previous job Janine came on board as a temp
(after her predecessor was excessively pranked and took early retirement) and
quickly proved herself indispensible to running the reception centre smoothly.
She recently agreed to serve as the guinea pig for Dr. Akagi's prototype
workstation which just goes to show how well she's grown to fit into the
Institute lifestyle. We're hoping that those experiments won't detain her too
long as it's become hard to imagine how the place will function without her.
