Suichiro Tanaka - Gold Leader
Our Boss and the only male member of Gold Team. He's officially titled
the Administrator of Search and Acquisition Personnel but he spends more time
in the field than in middle management so he's better known to us as Gold
Leader. Originally a freelance agent specialising in difficult location
and extraction missions he joined the Institute while it was setting up and
was put in charge of the (then theoretical) acquisition of involuntary
committal patients.
When the Gold Delmos joined the Institute he became our immediate
superior. There was some initial friction since we were a close knit unit and
he was an outsider but we learned both to respect his abilities and to learn
from him. While we had been trained in some capture procedures (mainly to do
with securing hostages) the majority of our training and field experience at
Delmo had been in the application of lethal force techniques which weren't
appropriate to our new duties. Fortunately he was an excellent teacher of
restraint and capture techniques and part of being good enough to be a Gold
operative was versatility. It wasn't long before we were up to his standards
and active in acquisition missions.
If that's not enough and you'd like to know more about him why not

Bianca - Deputy
Our team leader during the Delmo Corporation days she had the most
difficulty adapting to the new command structure. The problem wasn't taking
orders, we'd taken orders from the White Delmos all along. It was losing
field command that irked her. The conflict was soothed by Gold Leader
recognising her strategy and command abilities and appointing her as his
Deputy Commander. When Gold Leader can't join us in the field she's in
charge of the missions and hasn't failed to justify his confidence in her.
Our specialist in information gathering and tactics Bianca has found her
abilities enhanced by the addition of the compact supercomputer formerly in
Sailor Mercury's possession (recently reprogrammed for new users by Dr.
Akagi). She's looking forward to continuing to demonstrate its usefulness in
the field on our future missions.
Suniya
Suniya is our firearms ace. Put any kind of gun in her hands and she'll
fire it like a pro. Taught by Ryo Saeba (who also involuntarily taught her
self defense from fighting off his advances) she's the best sniper and
gunwoman in the Golds and probably one of the best shots in the world. As a
rule she uses a paste gun these days but there have been circumstances where
different ordinance was required and she demonstrated her skills with other
weapons hadn't atrophied. She's also good with explosives though again there
isn't much call for blasting these days. At least not against the actual
targets but explosions can make useful distractions and she's assisted a
number of captures by triggering an explosive surprise.
Toniya
The best martial artist of the original team Toniya had the greatest
difficulty adapting to our new "bring 'em back alive" operations. Her Sensei,
Logan, taught her to be the second best claw fighter in the world and she
still resents not getting much opportunity to demonstrate her skills these
days. But she has never been one to let her personal feelings get in the way
of the mission and remains a valued member of the team.
Rie
Yours Truly. The youngest of the original fab four Golds I specialize in
transportation. Which might not sound too useful but we've performed a lot of
acquisitions from hazardous conditions and left dodging ground and air fire on
a number of missions. That's when everyone really appreciates having the
best pilot and driver in the world behind the wheel.
Suniya can shoot any gun, I can drive any vehicle, air, sea or land,
like an expert. We've performed some really tricky extractions but I've
never failed to get both the team and our target out and back to the Institute
safe and sound no matter what gets thrown at us.
All this and I'm cute too!
Mai Shiranui
Mai was the first new recruit to the Golds. Trained in Ninjitsu since
childhood she's one heck of a martial artist (except I'd always thought ninja
were supposed to be quiet and fade into the background until they struck and
Mai definitely stands out from the crowd) and she can pull off some of those
incredible Ki blast techniques.
She doesn't like to talk about her past but I gather that after a long
term love affair ended badly she reassessed her life and decided it was time
to move on and do something worthwhile. While she searched for it she threw
herself back into her training. By chance Gold Leader visited her sensei
during this time (a courtesy call as he respected her teacher's abilities
though not his perversion) and was introduced to Mai. Impressed by what he
saw he offered her a try-out for Gold Team. Intrigued by his explanation of
its purpose she agreed and soon demonstrate she had both the physical and
mental skills the Golds required and became a full fledged member.
Now if she'd only stop claiming to be our most "talented" member ...
Cammy White
Another of our recent recruits and a former freelance ... personal
adjudication agent. Gold Leader knew Cammy from his own freelancing
days and had heard through the grapevine that she was getting tired of being
a lone wolf. So he invited her to drop by and try out for the Golds which
caused a bit of trouble as she decided to test our defenses enroute. I
forget if she was running from a Rover and ran into a pack of Spyders or vice
versa but she got double teamed so it was a messy introduction.
After finally establishing that she wasn't trying to break in and had
been an overconfident job applicant rather than a genuine intruder (so she
didn't need to be committed) she went through the testing and passed with
flying colours. She joined the team and has settled in nicely except for her
one complaint that she hasn't had a chance to demonstrate her garotting skills
since she got here. But she does have a great (and considerably less lethal)
chokehold for subduing targets that she's had plenty of chances to use.
Akira Kazama
Intern
Akira was the last addition to our group and began as an intern rather
than a full member of Gold Team. She showed great potential during her
internship and the boss want hired her soon as she completed her internship
and graduated from "Justice High". Which meant I ceased to be the youngest
member of the team.
The Institute intern program is still pretty new and frankly so far it's
mainly been a waste of time. Out of everyone sent to us (when I say "us" I
mean the whole Institute as we've only actually had three assigned to Gold
Team) under that "Justice High" program Akira's the only one so far to be
worth the disruption of bringing them in. I guess that makes her the
exception that proves the rules. Not only does she have some decent martial
arts skills plus mechanical know-how that'll prove handy in the field if
anything needs repairs in a hurry but she really knows how to soup up a bike!
Even more importantly she quickly proved herself as capable in the field
when we took her along for some field experience on acquisition missions. In
herearly days she did a great job in helping with the captures despite the
intention of her being there mainly as an observer. In fact she was the one
who spotted and caught our number one enemy.
Well, my number one enemy as I don't count Aika!
